One-click trading

Sign once with your wallet; for the next 24 hours, trades go through without a wallet prompt.

Why

At 1000x, waiting for a wallet prompt on every trade is too slow. One-click trading lets this browser sign trades for you.

How it works

  1. When you click Authenticate, your browser creates a new key, the session key.
  2. Your wallet signs one message that authorizes that key for your account.
  3. From then on, the session key signs your opens and closes. The key stays in this browser.
  4. After 24 hours the key stops working, and the chain refuses anything it signs. Click Authenticate again to start a new 24 hours with a new key.

What a session key can’t do

  • It can only open and close positions.
  • It can’t withdraw, claim $LONG, or change the session key. Each of those asks your wallet to sign, every time.
  • It can’t outlive its 24 hours: the expiry is part of what your wallet signs, and the chain enforces it.
  • Scripts on the page can’t read it: it’s a non-exportable browser key, so it can sign for you only while uplong is open in this browser. On browsers without WebCrypto Ed25519, the key lives only in memory, so you sign in again after reloading the page.
  • An account has one session key at a time. Authenticating in another browser replaces the old one, which then stops working.

Signing out

  • Disconnect deletes this browser’s session key. Do it on a shared computer.
  • Sign out everywhere (in the wallet menu) has your wallet sign the key’s revocation, so it stops working in every browser at once.

What you sign

Wallet prompts show a readable message, for example:
